A bright and complex coffee from the highlands of Mt. Kenya.

Grown on the fertile southern slopes of Mt. Kenya in Kirinyaga County, Kiangothe Coffee comes from one of Kenya’s most celebrated coffee-growing regions. At around 1,700 metres above sea level, more than 1,300 smallholder farmers cultivate coffee in the cool, high-altitude conditions between Kerugoya and Kiandai.

The region’s deep red volcanic soils, abundant rainfall and cool temperatures create ideal conditions for slow cherry maturation, helping to develop the bright acidity, complexity and clean cup profile that Kirinyaga coffees are known for.

The coffee is predominantly made up of SL34, alongside Ruiru 11 and Batian varieties. Farmers harvest across two seasons, with the early crop arriving between May and June, followed by the main harvest from November to December.
